Do you really enjoy a smoothie? I don’t know anyone who doesn’t. How about bananas? Everyone loves bananas don’t they? Would you like to see a few of my favorite banana smoothie recipes? Well you asked for it so here are six of my most delicious banana creations.
Do you know what makes a banana smoothie so healthy for your body? It’s the awesome freshness of the vitamins and minerals like sodium and potassium that make them an amazingly healthy fruit. All these great nutrients pack a big punch in many ways for your brain and body. They help reduce depression symptoms, aid your bones, your digestive system and also play a role in keeping your blood pressure in a happy place.
That’s why the banana is the major ingredient in all of the recipes below. Although I’ve thrown in a few other things that taste great too. Wanting to lose a few pounds? Just substitute skim milk for milk and give up the ice cream for some reduced fat frozen yogurt.
Secret tip: Add a tablespoon of honey to your smoothie recipe for a boost of all natural sweetness.
Another great tip is to serve smoothies in cold glasses. Maybe it’s just me but I think that really makes them good. Depending on your mixture and thickness of the smoothie you can drink it, slurp it through a straw or even eat it with a spoon. Smoothies are also best when you mix them right before you want to have one.
1 c. cubed peeled ripe mango
3/4 c. sliced ripe banana
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. honey
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Combine all of the above ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana
1 medium banana
1 1/4 c. milk
1 c. chocolate ice cream
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
Cut the banana into 1″ pieces. Wrap pieces in foil and freeze. Unwrap the banana pieces. In blender container combine banana, milk, chocolate ice cream and peanut butter. Cover and blend until smooth.
5 oz. Frozen blueberries
2 c. ice
1 c. water
Put all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
1 c. milk
2 scoops vanilla ice-cream
1 ripe banana, sliced
2 Kiwi fruit, peeled and finely diced
Blend the milk, ice-cream, and banana together in a blender till smooth. Add the Kiwi fruit, blend briefly, then pour into glasses.
1/2 sliced cantaloupe
1 peeled banana
1 c. vanilla ice cream
